The second edition of GREEN ENERGY EXPO & ROMENVIROTEC, held at the ROMEXPO Exhibition Complex, brought together over 8,800 visitors, turning the spotlight on innovation, sustainability, and the future of green technologies. Expanding its horizons through the integration of the URBAN SMART EXPO concept, this year’s event became the most comprehensive platform in Romania dedicated to sustainable living across energy, water, waste, and smart city sectors.

Officially inaugurated with the support of the Prime Minister’s Chancellery, the Ministry of Environment, Water and Forests, the Ministry of Energy, and the Department for Sustainable Development, the exhibition solidified its position as Romania’s largest sustainability event.

Spanning 15,000 square meters, the event showcased thousands of cutting-edge solutions and technologies from 500 brands across 15 countries. It featured a 100% expansion from its 2024 edition, filling Pavilion B2 — the country’s largest exhibition space — and extended into the outdoor areas of the ROMEXPO complex. New this year was the strong national representation from China, Switzerland, and Poland through dedicated pavilions.

Over three dynamic days, the expo hosted presentations, panels, and debates on urgent topics shaping Europe’s green transition — from the new EU urban wastewater directive to energy market reforms, investment opportunities in renewables, and regulatory frameworks for energy storage and self-consumption. More than 150 international and local speakers brought expertise and fresh perspectives to the forefront.

Local governance and public sector challenges were also front and center. The highly anticipated Congress of Mayors and Local Administration drew over 500 key decision-makers, including mayors and county council presidents, to discuss strategies for accelerating sustainable development at the community level.

“Through the collective efforts of innovators, public institutions, professional associations, and media partners, we have created Romania’s largest meeting point for green technologies and transformative dialogue,” said Camelia Buda, General Manager of EUROEXPO FAIRS. “The overwhelming participation reflects a deep, urgent need to build a robust ecosystem that supports a sustainable future for all.”

Oana Netbai, ROMEXPO’s Commercial Director, emphasized the event’s pivotal role in the region: “GREEN ENERGY EXPO & ROMENVIROTEC 2025 is a confirmation of ROMEXPO’s evolution into a catalyst for change. We are proud to be not just Romania’s leading event organizer, but a true driver in the green transition — where innovation, decision-making, and collaboration meet.”

The exhibition united a wide spectrum of professionals: from renewable energy producers, investors, and smart mobility providers, to architects, urban planners, tech innovators, waste management specialists, academics, NGOs, and public authorities. Even household consumers eager to adopt green solutions in their homes found inspiration and actionable ideas.
