The second edition of ENERGY EXPO®, held from May 22–24, 2025, at Hala Laminor in Bucharest, has once again powered the region’s energy future—this time, with greater reach, deeper impact, and record-breaking engagement.
With 282 exhibitors and partners from over 30 countries across four continents, the event showcased an unprecedented diversity of innovation, expertise, and collaboration. Among them were 93 returning strategic partners from the inaugural 2024 edition, a testament to the value and trust the expo has built in under a year.
Across three days, 9,174 visitors and industry professionals stepped into the heart of Southeast Europe’s energy transformation. From groundbreaking technologies and startup showcases to high-level policy discussions and community-driven initiatives, ENERGY EXPO® 2025 emerged not just as a trade show—but as a catalyst for progress.

High-Level Endorsements & Global Participation
The official opening was graced by Romania’s Minister of Energy, Sebastian Burduja, and Moldova’s Minister of Energy, Dorin Junghietu, signaling the strategic relevance of the event at a regional level. Ditte Juul Jørgensen, Director-General for Energy at the European Commission, further underscored its importance through a powerful address on collaboration and innovation in the energy space.
Attendees hailed from over 30 nations, including Austria, China, France, Germany, India, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Norway, the UK, USA, and more, positioning ENERGY EXPO® as a true international hub.

A Multi-Dimensional Experience
More than 80 experts led workshops and panels on the ENERGY EXPO® stage, with PPC and WALDEVAR Energy as key Stage Partners. While May 22–23 focused on B2B and B2G networking, May 24 became a consumer-centric showcase through the nZEB Show, produced in collaboration with Casa Magazin TV.
The CONNECT VIP Lounge, powered by JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel, provided an exclusive setting for high-level networking, surrounded by curated hospitality from BILBOR, Dropshot Coffee, Peroni, Gîrboiu Winery, VLAdiLA, and handcrafted furniture by Montana and Bradul Măneciu.
Empowering the Next Generation: LOOP Challenge & CleanTech Hackathon
In a compelling fusion of education and sustainability, 370 students and 20 teachers from 15 Bucharest schools participated in the LOOP Challenge, reimagining the iconic Infinity Column using recyclable materials. Their works were exhibited and voted on during the event via QR codes, resulting in €27,380 worth of prizes—with the top school, Școala 97, earning a solar panel and energy storage installation, courtesy of sponsors including WALDEVAR Energy, LONGi, PRIME Batteries Technology, and APERS.
In parallel, the CleanTech Hackathon, hosted by Techcelerator, attracted 130 young innovators who developed 30 AI- and sustainability-driven solutions. The winners—YellowGrid, WiseWatts, and Procesio—claimed €22,000 in prizes, including development resources and access to pilot projects.

Innovation in Outreach: Reverse Graffiti & Viral Engagement
ENERGY EXPO® broke new ground in event promotion with reverse graffiti campaigns across Bucharest’s most walked streets. This eco-conscious marketing technique, using only pressurized water, transformed dirty sidewalks into clean, compelling invitations—proving that even advertising can be sustainable.
The ENERGY EXPO® mobile app ranked #7 in the App Store’s Business category and was used to access the event, vote in the LOOP Challenge, and take part in the TREASURE HUNT. Prizes included a TODOME solar carport, Garmin Enduro3, smart rings, and a PULSAR PRO EV charger, with total giveaways exceeding €50,000.
A Towering Symbol of Hope: The Plush Toy Column
Perhaps the most heartfelt initiative was the construction of a 10.9-meter-tall “Endless Column of Plush Toys,” built with over 18,200 toys donated by the public and collected across key city landmarks like Destiny Park, ParkLake, IKEA, and major office buildings. Sanitized by Taxiul cu Bomboane, these toys are now being distributed to underprivileged children—turning kindness into a monumental legacy.

Looking Ahead: Careers, Collaboration & 2026
The ENERGY EXPO® team is already preparing its next major initiative: ConnectING Careers, scheduled for October 9–11, 2025, at Romaero. This event will focus on career pathways, entrepreneurship, and job creation across vital industries.
As ENERGY EXPO® 2026 begins to take shape, the vision is clear: deepen impact, broaden reach, and continue to be the energy epicenter of Southeast Europe.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all our partners, sponsors, and participants. Your energy fuels ours.
Stay tuned for updates on ENERGY EXPO® 2026.
