A Launchpad for Sustainable Innovation
Greentech Africa 2025 is an accelerator program designed to provide selected startups with the mentorship, resources, and strategic guidance needed to elevate their impact. Spearheaded by Village Capital, the program aims to support 10-15 startups from Egypt, Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal, and South Africa, offering them a fully funded opportunity to refine their innovations and attract investors.
With a strong emphasis on investment readiness, the program will equip entrepreneurs with the tools to scale their businesses effectively and position them as leaders in Africa’s sustainability movement.
Who Should Apply?
Greentech Africa 2025 is seeking startups that are pioneering solutions in five key sustainability sectors:
- Agtech and Food Security: Leveraging technology to enhance agricultural productivity and food security.
- Biodiversity Protection: Developing innovative approaches for sustainable land, water, air, and wildlife management.
- Circular and Regenerative Economy: Creating solutions that reduce waste, pollution, and greenhouse gas emissions.
- Cleantech: Designing resource-saving technologies to decrease reliance on non-renewable resources.
- Climate Innovation and Adaptation: Building climate resilience and adaptation strategies to counter environmental challenges.
Startups must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Be a legally registered for-profit entity operating in Egypt, Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal, or South Africa.
- Offer a market-based tech solution addressing at least one of the outlined sustainability challenges.
- Have a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and demonstrated customer or business validation.
- Have raised less than USD 1M in equity funding.
- Have at least one full-time founder based in an eligible country.
