Engineering firm to deliver 29.99MWac solar plant by January 2026

KUALA LUMPUR, May 17 — Samaiden Group Bhd (KL:SAMAIDEN) has clinched a RM108.6 million contract to undertake the engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC) of a large-scale solar photovoltaic (LSSPV) facility in Peninsular Malaysia.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the renewable energy player announced it had been appointed by an undisclosed client—referred to only as “Company A”—for the development of a 29.99 megawatt alternating current (MWac) solar power plant located in the central region of the peninsula. The project is scheduled for completion by January 15, 2026.

Samaiden cited confidentiality clauses as the reason for withholding the identity of the project owner.

This contract marks a significant win for the company as it continues to expand its footprint in Malaysia’s clean energy sector. The project will reinforce Samaiden’s credentials as a key player in the EPCC space for renewable infrastructure.

Following the announcement, Samaiden’s shares edged up by one sen—or 0.9%—to close at RM1.12 on Friday, bringing its market capitalisation to RM501.91 million. Despite the uptick, the stock remains down 13.2% year-to-date.

With the government pushing for accelerated adoption of renewable energy, the latest win positions Samaiden to play a pivotal role in Malaysia’s energy transition.
