SAP SE has entered into a strategic partnership with Ambipar, a global leader in environmental solutions, to introduce ‘Net Zero as a Service,’ a comprehensive initiative aimed at helping businesses tackle climate change. This collaboration combines SAP’s advanced cloud technologies with Ambipar’s expertise in carbon credit generation and trading, empowering customers to track, reduce, and offset their carbon emissions effectively.
The new service is set to enhance SAP’s sustainability management offerings, providing businesses with the tools to manage their decarbonization journey end-to-end. Through the integration of SAP’s AI-driven and ERP-focused cloud solutions, companies can establish a robust data foundation for accurately measuring their emissions. This holistic approach enables businesses to make environmentally conscious decisions while balancing financial viability. Furthermore, Ambipar’s AMBIFY platform, accessible via the SAP Store, allows customers to purchase internationally certified carbon credits to offset their emissions.
Ambipar is currently piloting the ‘Net Zero as a Service’ initiative within its own operations, leveraging SAP’s technologies to meet its growth targets while optimizing efficiency, fostering innovation, and managing environmental impacts. The success of this pilot will pave the way for a broader rollout to SAP customers globally.
This partnership aligns with SAP’s broader commitment to achieving net zero across its value chain by 2030, in accordance with the 1.5°C target outlined by the Paris Agreement. SAP’s climate strategy calls for a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by 43% by 2030, with emissions peaking by 2025. To support these goals, SAP is migrating its customers to cloud solutions, which are more energy-efficient and designed to reduce overall emissions. This transition is supported by key initiatives like ‘RISE with SAP’ and ‘GROW with SAP,’ which enable businesses to move towards cloud-based enterprise resource planning systems. SAP and its cloud provider partners are also heavily investing in green data centers that operate using renewable electricity, further reinforcing the company’s sustainability focus.
